Skibbe was an absolute disaster. He should have been sacked at the end of January.

I can't really understand the Decision of Firing Skibbe! I know the result has been far from good the last 2 months, but I liked the style he made the team play!

So what you think of it?

Eintracht have scored just 7 goals in 4 months - including a period of 8 games without a goal.

It doesn't matter how well anyone liked the style of play Skibbe played.

If the team is not scoring then he can hardly complain!

Well what a terrible penalty from Alex Meier.

With Nikolov in goal I'm certain one of their penalties would have been saved.

Well Borussia Dortmund have only just won their last nine games and every away game in the Bundesliga this season. . . . . . So should be a straightforward 4-0 victory for Eintracht I assume .

Irisheintracht fan has an amazing record of victories on visiting the waldstadion recently. . . . . . Jurgen Klopp will have to alter his tactics to something like uber-defensive on account of this. So anything is possible.

Hi BlessOFan,

Great to see you're bringing your team to match with Eintracht. I will be at the Leverkusen game with 7 others, 6 of whom currently live in Dublin.

Did you state that you are bringing 18 others?

That'll be some great support from Ireland for the Leverkusen match.

Hello all,

I've just finished watching the online 2-1 defeat at Stuttgart.

And, to be prefectly honest, it sums up harmony away from home in that the opposition are routinely handed free goals from poor defending.

Kohler scores with 5 minutes to half time and, with just some sense of discipline and composure, we could have been leading at half time - and if that had been the case, I'm convinced we would have won.

Last Wednesday Cacau showed his danger whilst scoring a header from a difficult angle against Barcelona. Today he was given a free header completely unmarked from a corner from 6 yards out. We have defenders marking the goalposts whilst key opposition attackers are left unmarked. . . . Note to M. Skibbe - Goalposts do not score goals.

Even Cacau's second goal, which was admittedly well taken, could have been prevented if he'd just been marked in the movement leading up to his shot.

Eintracht scored 3 in tough places like Bremen and Dortmund, and won only narrowly - Is it the case that to win away from home we must score 3 goals to counteract the poor defending from basic set pieces?

Furthermore Skibbe's substitutions should have been made 15-20 minutes earlier. In my view you bring on late substitutions when you're winning and in the 15 minute period after half time if you're losing (if there's no sign of change).

Again points stupidly lost!

Yes absolutely

I know that Amanatidis and Fenin are injured.

Are Liberopoulous & Korkmaz also injured?

If so then this is a real serious case of very bad luck.

I would not recommend getting an S8 or S9 from Central Station on a Saturday Afternoon. It can be very busy and trains can be delayed. The train may not necessarily be underground either and if you're not familiar with the very massive Hauptbahnhof then you will waste time looking for your platform.

Getting an S8/S9 from another station (Hauptwache, Konstablerwache, Taunuslaunge maybe) is far better. Fairly frequent trains (every 10 mins or so)

Much more recommended is a tram just outside O'Reillys (Going to "Stadion"). Takes 15-20 mins to reach the stadium.

Or a taxi.

For Larstern:

The time for the match against Hertha Berlin is yet to be confirmed. It will probably be confirmed some time in early March. You can check at this official Bundesliga website (in English)

http://www.bundesliga.de/en/liga/matches/2009/index.php

It it most likely however that the game will be on saturday 17th April at 3.30 PM. The latest time it culd be scheduled for is 5.30 PM on sunday 18th April

Hello RedHandEagles,

I'm an Eintracht fan from/who lives in Dublin. Very interested to hear of your supporters club in Northern Ireland.

I try to get over to Frankfurt whenever I can. I have been to 4 games this season - (A) Werder Bremen, (H) Vfl Bochum, (H) Borussia M, (H) Vfl Wolfsburg.

All I can say is that you are definitely in for a great occasion supporting a great team in a fantastic stadium. Prepare for cold weather  - It was minus
15 oC in the stadium for the most recent Wolfsburg game. Brrrrrrrrrr.

O'Reillys in central frankfurt (near Hauptbahnhof) is a very good pub for both home and away fans.

Apologies for the English - I do not speak or write German so I'm hoping you understand what I mean when I say NO TO VORONIN. He has been a spectacular failure at Liverpool.

2. Franz
3. Schwegler
4. Ochs
5. Nikolov
6. Liberopoulous

Munro,

I think that you're slightly over-reacting to a very disappointing defeat to Leverkusen last week.

I agree with your assertion that the potential of the club to achieve so much more is definitely there. However your attack on basically the entire team is justifiable in some respects but not in others.

I was at the first game - the 3 - 2 victory in Bremen - and many of the players you are criticising played exceptionally well that day - Teber, Meier and Fenin (in the second half). Indeed Bremen remain undefeated since and are 2nd in the table. Why is it that such excellent performances only happen on occasion and rarely away from home?

In my view there appears to be serious weaknesses in defence. Look at the goal Hannover scored recently - some defenders were basically watching the attack as it unfolded into an equaliser for them. Only two clean sheets so far tells its own story - and it is up to Skibbe to sort that out. I would not have Nikolov in goal but since Proll is injured then there really is no choice for the moment.

I don't agree with your assessment of Liberopoulous - He rarely gives the ball away, is excellent in the air and scored vital goals last season - which could have us in the 2nd division if they hadn't have been scored. Attackers can look very vulnerable to attack when the team plays as badly as it did last week.

The next games until the winter break are vital - All is not lost  . . . . . the 3 home games against B. Moen, Mainz and Wolfsburg are all very winnable -
