Yesterday was the premiere of Frankfurt’s start into the season. The first half was dominated by Aachen’s team supported by an active crowd. Thanks to goalkeeper Pröll, the first half ended 0:0.
Frankfurt returned after half time with more confidence and started threatening the home team. In the 77th minute Eintracht’s Alex Meier even scored his first goal of the season. Unfortunately the happiness lasted only 10 minutes in which Aachen equalized to the final score of 1:1.
All in all a very promising start into the season. The first half the Eagles were tensed which resulted in a few mistakes and misunderstandings. But our defense and Goalkeeper did a great job. The Coach voiced his confidence in the Team and supported his words with no substitutions.
I am sure this is the last season in relegation. Premier League, here we come.
We definitely look promising. Funkel seems to be pushing all the right buttons. While we looked a bit shaky at times against Karlsruhe, once we got into our stride there was only one team in it, IMHO.
